Katrina Kaif and Chitrangda Singh are not quite a competition. Well, at least as of now. While Katrina boasts of a dozen odd hits already, Chitrangda has now finally made up her mind to become more aggressive about her Bollywood career. However, the two seem to be having a connection all of a sudden. That's because if the initial two line synopsis of her upcoming film MERE BROTHER KI DULHAN is to be believed, Katrina could well be starring in a film which is a rehash of SORRY BHAI (that had starred Chitrangda).
'The similarities out here are too obvious to be ignored,' says an industry observer who has kept a close track of both the films, 'It is a known fact that SORRY BHAI was about a guy falling in love with his brother's fiancee. Now look at the very title of MERE BROTHER KI DULHAN. Doesn't that itself convey so much in so less?'
Sounds like a valid observation. After all the makers of MERE BROTHER KI DULHAN too haven't shied away from describing the film as 'a topsy-turvy story which takes you on a fun-filled ride of humour and romance, where Imran falls in love with his brother's dulhan!' The brother in question is Ali Zafar of TERE BIN LADEN fame while the 'dulhan' is Katrina Kaif.
On her part though, Katrina is unflustered with the insinuations. For someone who has been playing varied roles with much elan on a pretty regular basis, she is happy to be in a film which has actually been designed as a musical romantic comedy while being set amongst middle class families in North India. She laughs it away by stating, 'Come on now, if we think like that then almost all films are the same. There are hardly any similarities here between the two films.'
Well Katrina, as long as MERE BROTHER KI DULHAN is an interesting affair, we won't mind similarities in the plot line either!
