At Lakme Fashion Week Summer Resort 2011, there were more celeb guests than celeb showstoppers. Front rows were dotted with glitzy fashionistas who either proved that they were truly stylish or had just lost the plot. Look at the picture above; Sonali Bendre gets it right in a single-shouldered drape dress, Vidya Malvade’s unflattering drape dress needs some help from Sonali’s, Mugdha Godse’s electric pink drape dress will be a ladies’ favourite and Urmila Matondkar hasn’t upgraded her wardrobe since the nineties!

Hair that looks like a wig, shimmery dress with shimmery accessories, red lipstick and whitewashed foundation - Urmila should know that she is in trouble!

Both Juhi Chawla and Sridevi were born in the sixties. But Juhi’s XXL T-shirt and gold(!!) trousers add years to her look while Sridevi’s fitted trousers and feminine tunic spells chic. Bookmark Sridevi’s style to be fashionable at forty.

Mandira Bedi and Jacqueline Fernandes were spotted in creations by Masaba. We love Jacqueline’s look but Mandira Bedi’s sari is a must-have in every girl’s wardrobe just because it’s unique and has such a youthful and fun appeal!

This season, Lakme Fashion Week has some regular guests like Monica Dogra and Rhea Kapoor. Monica Dogra’s style is essentially Bohemian and she hardly ever has a diva-like preened look. A change in hairstyle is perhaps required if she plans to attend fashion shows so frequently.

Rhea Kapoor is anything but stylish without the style-conscious Sonam Kapoor. Remember her look at the Anamika Khanna’s show (extreme right)? She looked almost fashion forward but then she turned up in that unflattering grey drape dress and spoilt it all!
