artical Picture Post global meltdown the businesses are changing at a seemingly dizzying pace and the cost of implementing change growing by the day as the quantum of change required is more.  New adversaries, banking & financial regulations, consumer expectations and competitive landscape are forcing companies to create growth through innovative outsourcing models. Most of the Indian IT companies seem to be doing all the right things—listening to their best customers, investing heavily in building relationships. Bespoke model is not the flavour of current decade. IT service companies need to develop proactive servicing strategies. Indian IT industry needs to cross-pollinate the ideas from Indian wedding industry.Last decade Indian wedding industry has produced the most innovative services and showed the way for rest of service industries.  In beginning of this decade, wedding industry introduced end to end customized event management solutions. From ritual preparation to catering and venue arrangements everything is provided as package.  With the advent of such solutions the whole wedding industry landscape has changed. In same manner, IT service companies would have to introduce end to end customizable solutions for the business.  Wedding industry was able to introduce such innovative solutions because they understood the requirements or so called the wedding culture.  IT service companies need to innovate and provide proactive business solutions to reduce cost and time overheads for the client which can only be possible if they understand the client’s business, prepare and react even before the client.  For e.g. IT companies must track SWIFT (Society for worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunications) announcements to analyze and design SWIFT interface solutions proactively. IT companies with such ready to use agile services would add lot of value to clients outsourcing business model.   IT companies would leverage such knowledge and understanding to win client’s confidence producing more volumes and increased profit margins. Service companies must drive IT sales force to target clients as per market driven solutions designed by them rather than just following clients for project opportunities. These innovative strategies would surely improve the value chain and benefit the end customer i.e. common man.
