The most suitable adjective to define editor-filmmaker Shirish Kunder will be 'plain unlucky'. JAAN-E-MANN and TEES MAAR KHAN didn't do well at all. Both films belonged to Shirish as he directed one and produced another. But both failed to put him on the frontlines of bollywood industry. For the moment Shirish is still known by his editor tag more than his filmmaker one.
But the reverse effect may soon be on the anvil as Shirish readies his next project and third in row with Akshay Kumar. Titled JOKER, the film promises a lot on many fronts. Firstly, it claims to take the 3D experience to a new high and bring in fresh cinematic experiences as far as Bollywood is concerned. And secondly, the film will pair up Sonakshi Sinha (Bollywood's current diva) with Akshay Kumar, a combination that brings in a kind of freshness.
Since Shirish has been missing his claim to fame as filmmaker in the past, let's hope it's his luckier turn this time around. Moreover, with Sonakshi proving lucky for DABANGG makers, let's hope her good luck spills over in Shirish's case too, who after all requires the dose of it desperately.
