Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee's out with the proposed Rail Budget and we think she's gone that extra mile to put a smile on our faces. Here's a look at 5 things we love about the Railway Budget 2011.

Cheaper online ticketing

All you net-savvy people out there are going to love the Rail Budget. Apparently, the booking charges for A/C as well as non A/C seats will be reduced by half in the coming fiscal year so you now have all the more reason to start planning your next in-country vacation.

Introduction of trolleys at railway stations
Have you ever had an experience where the coolies insisted you take their services even though you didn't want them? Well, now you can manage your own baggage and not have to dodge a million people just to keep that coolie in sight. Simply load your own trolley at the railway station!

'Go India' smart card ticket project

The common transport card is finally being launched this year and we're looking forward to using these pay-as-you-go cards anywhere across the country. Let's keep our fingers crossed and hope there aren't any technical issues!

Concession for women aged 58 and above
Mamata Banerjee has lowered the age limit for female senior citizens from 62 to 58 years. So that means your mom who's still in her fifties might just be eligible. Savings again!

Incentives to lower accidents
Following the two incidents of sabotage that led to a large number of deaths last year, Banerjee's Rail Budget proposes anti-collision devices as well as a doing away with of all unmanned crossings. What's more, she's provided an incentive to states with lowest number of rail accidents. They'll get two new projects and two new trains!
