- "Battle: Los Angeles" invaded an additional 17 territories in its second week in the international marketplace and the result was a first place finish of $27.1 million for the sci-fi action epic.
Boasting the greatest number of territories of any film in the top 20, the film is steadily marching toward the $100 million mark in global revenue with $79.4 million thus far.
No surprise that second place belongs to "Rango," with the animated favorite continuing a solid run both in North America and the international arena as families worldwide embrace the chameleon sheriff voiced by Johnny Depp. Earning $17.5 million in its third weekend in 42 territories, the film is on the cusp of $150 million in worldwide family-fueled dollars.
Further demonstrating the strength of animated family films overseas, "Gnomeo and Juliet" takes fifth place in its sixth weekend of release with $5.9 million and impressively crosses the $150 million mark in global revenue in 23 territories.
