The 23-year-old won the Grand Prix title in Doha. Not only was she the first Indian grandmaster among women, but the youngest one to do so at the age of 15. Quite amazing, isn’t it? Now she is readying herself to battle against China’s Hou Yifan at the title match of the World Chess Champion.
Vishwanathan Anand (the only other Indian to have reached till the world title match) feels the lady will have to be tactically a lot more alert if she wants to get the better of Hou Yifan. “The initiative has to be converted into a point. She has to find a way to improve her technique. There is no point in outplaying someone if (she) can find an escape tactically. Hou is not a clear favourite as such. But she is dangerous,” he was quoted saying as per a TOI
