The director of GODMOTHER, Vinay Shukla whose last film was KOI MERE DIL SE POOCHE in 2002, is back with MIRCH, a film about adulterous women. The film stars Konkana Sen Sharma and Raima Sen in lead roles.

Says Vinay, "MIRCH is about what happens when a woman is caught red handed with her lover by her husband and yet she manages to get out of it. There are four stories in the film which are connected. It is a story from the Panchatantra which travels in its various versions to modern times. "

Ask Vinay how spicy is the film considering its title and he says, "That is a relative thing. It depends on people how spicy do they find it. From my side, it's quite spicy and witty."

It's normally the men who are shown to be amorous and adulterous. So what made Vinay do a film which is on women adultery? "At a deeper level, MIRCH is about gender equality I relationships. MIRCH is the celebration of womanhood. It doesn't show women in a poor light. It is not a vulgar film. In fact there is a line in the dialogue in the film says that women are smatter than men. Maybe that's why men suppress them by their physical power."

Does he feel that the audience will accept this film on women adultery? "It's a very accessible film. There is nothing offensive either for men or women in this film."

Speaking about his eight year long sabbatical, Vinay says, "I was here. I was working on some scripts but for some reason or the other they didn't take off. The fact that I missed out on eight years bothers me. But better late than never."

MIRCH also stars Boman Irani, Shreyas Talpade,Rajpal Yadav, Shahana Goswami and Arunoday Singh. It's all set to release on December 10.
