Shriya Saran has come forward to give her helping hand to popular Kannada actress Dr.Jayamala in the Sabarimala controversy. The actress has questioned the double standards of the temple and has appreciated Jayamala's stand on the issue. Shriya, who always stood for women, has reportedly questioned the necessity of filing a charge sheet against Dr. Jayamala if the crime branch thinks her claims are most illogical and implausible. She also expressed her displeasure for forbidding women from entering sanctum sanctorum. Actress Jayamala(50) violated a religious practice that barred women from entering a temple and touching its male idol. The temple rules forbid women between the ages of 10-50 years from entering the temple. Women before they reach 10 and those after 50 are however allowed. However, Kerala police have filed a charge sheet against actress Dr. Jayamala and two others on Decemeber 14 for violating the Sabarimala temple's religious practice. They have been booked under Section 295 A of IPC for outraging the religious sentiments.
