Venkatesh has put Savitri movie on the backburner and moved on to do Bodyguard remake. Why did Venky backed out of Savitri after launching it formally? Here is the inside story about why Savithri was shelved. Director Teja came up with a unique characterization where the protagonist is a mentally retarded person. He fights for the rights of upbringing his child with the help of a lady lawyer. Venkatesh and Suresh Babu were very impressed with the storyline but they realized it later that it is a copy of Hollywood movie 'I am Sam'. Vikram is doing that film in Tamil as 'Deiva Thirumurugan' and someone brought this to Daggubati brothers notice. They called upon Teja and scolded him for narrating a copied script. That is when Venkatesh decided to do Bodyguard remake. Now Teja is looking for a bakara who would fall in his trap.
