Middle East Best Luxury Hotels

(L-R) The Burj Al Arab, the fantastic interiors of the 7 star hotel.

For the eight year running, the Burj Al Arab, the sail-shaped hotel on one of Dubai's pristine beaches, has been voted the best hotel in the Middle East.

And it is a natural choice. The 7-star hotel is a perfect example of the excessive luxury, what with walls embellished with gold leaf, 202 suites staffed with butlers, an underwater signature restaurant and a fleet of Rolls Royces ready to chauffer guests around the city.

The award was presented by the World Travel Awards, dubbed the 'Oscars of the travel industry', as part of the World Travel Awards 2011 Grand Tour.

Other winners at the World Travel Awards' Middle East edition were Le Meridien Al Aqah Beach Resort, Fujairah for best beach resort, Grosvenor House, Dubai for best business hotel and Abu Dhabi's Etihad as best airline. Here's a list of best hotel winners in the Middle East:
Leading Hotel: Burj Al Arab, Dubai
Leading Leisure Hotel: Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates Dubai
Leading New Hotel: Makkah Clock Royal Tower - A Fairmont Hotel
