Shilpa Shetty Long Drapes Shilpa Shetty Soft Drapes Shilpa Shetty Daring Drapes How to get the look Shilpa Shetty

Like eager paparazzi, we’re always excited to catch what Shilpa Shetty is wearing. Does she disappoint? We don’t think her fabulous body allows her to! Shilpa is often seen wearing uber chic drape dresses. So, for all those who’d do anything to emulate Shilpa’s style, we take you there with our own interpretations of how to wear the drape dress.

Long Drapes

The Look: Here Shilpa is in a striking red, ankle-length drape dress, with simple black peep-toes and a dark animal-print clutch. A bracelet, diamond drops and a French manicure complete the look.

We say: The bow in the middle of the dress is too dramatic, just the plain drapes would have done fine. However, the monochrome works well on her yoga-fit body.

How to get the look:
Red is a fun, playful and sexy colour. So take the word siren literally and go all out with this look. Long dresses work well for taller bodies. Make sure you pick a flattering dress because drapes can make you look fat! Note, red is a daring colour, so keep it monochrome like Shilpa. Black peep toes are fine but you can also opt for a neat pair of metallic or nude peeps. Lastly, don’t be shy of a little cleavage!

Soft Drapes

The look: A layered toga style dress in soft salmon, set off with a layer of cream. Nude sandals and subtle make-up compliment the look.

We say: We wonder why Shilpa’s sporting the burgundy wristwatch. Was it a gift from Raj? Otherwise, we like the simple statement she makes with the dress and the diamond ring.

How to get the look: Opt for a short dress with a side drape from waist down in a soft pink or champagne. For this kind of dress, go for a boat neck or a high neck. Keep your make-up nude, but play around with the lips. Plump and glossy lips work wonders. Top the look off with chandelier earrings. You can also wear your hair differently by wearing a tousled bun.

Right- Dress, Asos, Rs. 1,796

Daring Drapes

The look: With the easy drapes and gorgeous purple , this single-shoulder drape dress is perfect for a cocktail evening. Teamed with a wide belt, gold clutch and shoes, Shilpa finishes the ensemble with a diamond necklace.

We say: We see a lot of mixed-signals here. Black belt, gold shoes and that watch again! On first look the gaudy gold clutch hurts the eye, and takes away from the dress which we actually like.

How to get the look: When working with bold drapes, sorry girls but you need the legs and height to pull of this look. Stick to the short style and go for a halter or one-shoulder drape dress. Don’t get carried away with the eccentric drape styles out there. Please don’t over accessorise with this ensemble, a delicate pair of earring will do just fine. Note: match your shoes and bag to your belt!
