5 Minute Healthy No-Cook Sauces

5 Minute Healthy No-Cook Sauces
In these dog afternoons of summer, all you feel like is coming home to a nice warm, cooked meal. But, do you always get the time to keep something ready, or put something together? If you're tired of packaged noodles and unhealthy take-away foods, it's time to try some 5 minute no-cook sauces that are as delicious as they are easy to prepare. Here are three simple sauces, which call for no cooking and can be whipped up in a jiffy!

Ginger Coconut Peanut Sauce
This is a spicy sauce that caters perfectly to the Indian palette. The ginger coconut peanut sauce matches skinless chicken breasts or tossed noodles or whole wheat pasta, or simply as a sauce over some grilled vegetables.

Ingredients

  • 6 large tablespoon of chicken broth
  • 3 tablespoon of low-fat coconut milk
  • 3 tablespoon of homemade peanut butter
  • 1 tablespoon of vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon of low –sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of minced fresh ginger
  • 2 tablespoon of chilli sauce (I prefer tobasco)

Method
Put all the ingredients together in a bowl and whisk until the mixture forms a uniform cream based sauce/smooth mixture. This sauce can be preserved in the fridge for up to 4 days.

Fresh Tomato Salsa Crudo
You can use this sauce as a spread in your wraps, or simply serve it over grilled vegetables or a baked potato. The fresh tomato salsa crudo has no added preservatives, needs no cooking time and is no fuss.

Ingredients

  • 3 ½ cup of chopped tomatoes
  • 1 minced clove of garlic
  • 1/4th cup of chopped parsley
  • 1/4th cup of chopped basil leaves
  • 2 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/4th tablespoon of freshly chopped thyme
  • ½ tablespoon of salt
  • 1/4th tablespoon of crushed chilli pepper flakes
  • 1/4th tablespoon of freshly grounded black pepper

Method:
Combine all ingredients in a large bowl. Let it sit at room temperature for 30 minutes and your fresh tomato salsa crudo is ready to be served.

Spanish Salsa Fresca
Not only is this easy and simple to make, but it is spicy and a perfect delight to tag along with any white fish fillets or stir fried chicken breasts.

Ingredients
3 ½ cups of chopped tomatoes
  • 1/4th cup of finely sliced red onions (you can also use normal onions if red onions are not available)
  • 1 jalapeno
  • 2 minced garlic cloves
  • 2 tablespoon of lime juice
  • 2 tablespoon of olive oil
  • ½ table spoon of salt
  • ½ tablespoon of black pepper
  • ½ tablespoon of oregano

Method:
Puree tomatoes separately. Now throw in all the other ingredients in a large bowl (along with pureed tomatoes). Leave the sauce at room temperature for 15 minutes before serving it.
