Inside Kate Middleton Royal Suite
Kate Middleton, who will marry Prince William on April 29, has moved into the opulent, family-owned Goring Hotel ahead of her wedding.
A Reuters report says the princess-to-be will stay in the, £5,000-a-night Royal Apartment, the largest and most opulent suite at the hotel which recently underwent a makeover to celebrate last year's centenary.
The Sun newspaper said it included a four-poster bed, an original "venerable" toilet made by 19th Century plumber Thomas Crapper, and antique gown, thought to be a prototype of the one worn by Queen Victoria on her wedding day.
It also features a waterproof TV in the bathroom and there is a painting depicting the TV character Blackadder kissing the hand of Queen Elizabeth I.
The garden at The Goring Hotel
According to the Daily Mail, staff at the Goring Hotel filled the suite with more than 20 bouquets in anticipation of her arrival. Kate's suite also has its own 'library' of old leather books, a grand piano and French windows opening on to a Juliet balcony with spectacular views over the London skyline.
The 100-year-old hotel, a favourite with the rich and famous, is also apparently fitted with carpets made by same company that provided rugs to the Palace of Versailles. Kate Middleton's parents have booked the whole hotel (71 rooms) for their friends and relatives.
