Rakeysh Mehra speaks about TEEN THAY BHAI RAKEYSH OMPRAKASH MEHRA

Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra has smartened up. Or shall we say he is adapting himself well to the diktats of Bollywood? That's because for his upcoming film TEEN THAY BHAI, he has decided to take an entirely linear and straight forward approach of story telling. This is unlike his earlier attempts like DELHI 6, RANG DE BASANTI and AKS which either had metaphorical connotations or came with some messaging.

"Mehra wanted to each of his films to have a meaning to them if one scratched the surface", says a close associate of the film maker, "'RANG DE BASANTI had a patriotic flavour to it but Mehra kept it non-linear by mixing current times with Bhagat Singh's revolutionary tale. DELHI 6 has this entire 'kaala bandar' and 'look at your own self in the mirror' metaphor whereas AKS had strong philosophical/spiritual/mythical tone to it. While RANG DE BASANTI worked, the other two didn't do well commercially."

No wonder, Mehra wanted to keep things simpler this time around with TEEN THAY BHAI being designed as a light hearted comic tale about three brothers.

"There is no twisted plot or any such elements that require audience to scratch their heads", continues Mehra's associate, "There is no hidden meaning, messaging or connotation this time around. The film is a simple entertainer and is aimed at the audience which wants to spend those couple of hours in a relaxed manner."

Well Rakeysh, we would know when the film releases on 15th April 2011.
