London-based luxury watchmakers Backes & Strauss recently put out their Piccadilly Princess watch for the world to admire, and purchase. The Princess watch is made from 18k white gold and surrounded by a total of 327 perfectly cut diamonds that weigh about 23.34 carats. The dial is set with 162 Ideal-cut diamond weighing 0.73 carats and white mother-of-pearl and the watch bracelet is set with 136 Ideal-cut diamonds weighing 18.57 carats.

What’s interesting about this jewellery watch is the way the diamonds are cut. The angle at which the light enters the diamond helps refract it internally from 57 precisely placed facets that then disperses through the top of the diamond, producing maximum brilliance. The watch, which is part of Backes & Strauss’ Royal Collection is also available in rose gold.

The 37mm watch comes with automatic movement and a platinum segment.
