Like all things Snyder, this is a gorgeous trailer. But the premise gets a wee bit lost in the collage of confusion. So here's the latest synopsis that was just released last month:
Sucker Punch is an epic action fantasy that takes us into the vivid imagination of a young girl whose dream world provides the ultimate escape from her darker reality. Unrestrained by the boundaries of time and place, she is free to go where her mind takes her, but her incredible adventures blur the lines between what's real and what is imaginary...with potentially tragic consequences.Ok, that's still a big vague, here's another run-down from Comic Con:
Set in the 1950s, Sucker Punch follows Babydoll (Emily Browning) who is confined to a mental institution by her stepfather, who intends to have her lobotomized in five days. While there, she imagines an alternative reality to hide her from the pain, and in that world, she begins planning her escape, needing to steal five objects to help get her out before she is deflowered by a vile man.As you can read and see it's a pretty complex story. We know it's going to be gorgeous, but we're really hoping the heart of the story isn't lost behind the awesome Orks and robots...
But it's still way too early to tell. Sucker Punch will be in theaters March 25, 2011.
