i am Pregnant No Thank you,No Thank you,Pregnant No,Pregnant No Thank,Pregnant i like

She is the girl who is driven by wanderlust! She loves to travel and if not for work she would be living out of a suitcase. If you’ve rubbed her the wrong way make sure you take her to the beach and serve her golden fried prawns and port wine… then and only then you would be forgiven!

"Excited as hell! Yay!" is the update I had put up on Facebook after chalking out my Mumbai-Delhi road trip itinerary. And that was it! I was bombarded with phone calls, gtalk messages, scraps from everyone… congratulating me for being an expectant mother! Even my obscure cousins and wannabe net-savvy aunts emerged out of nowhere to express their joy!

True, we're in an era where women have been to the space and back, but married for seven years and no baby yet does not go down too well with most!  The epitome of a women's happiness is measured either by a marriage or a baby. If you belong to my category (who doesn't plan to have a baby for a long time), then you DARE NOT put updates like I did, or go on 'unexplained' sabbaticals from work.

Think I'm being petty? Here's a lowdown on what happens when you put having babies off…

Family pressure disguises itself in many ways. The most common passive aggressive one is "You'll be too old to have any!" Then there's emotional atyachaar from his parents or yours: "We'll be too old to care for your baby, beta." Or "Look how we are living it up after our retirement; it's better to get it done with time-pe" Yeah! my boss is not the only one who drives me around with deadlines!

My single woman friends in their late 20s/early 30s are the ones with funnier reasons, "Oye, look I am not even married and you can't be coming to my (not-even-on-the-horizon) shaadi all preggo or with a baby haan!" YA RIGHT!!

And here's what my friends with babies or are expecting or planning to conceive tell me, "Abhi tera number kab hai, trust me it's the best feeling in the world, chal saath mein karte hai!" HUH?!

And there are folks who have been there, done that and who tell you that having a baby is like getting a tattoo on your face. Go for it only when you are really, really sure and reeeeeeaaally ready. I agree!
