Foods to Break Your Karva Chauth Fast
It might be the wrong time to talk about food since you probably might be fasting, but we couldn’t help but tell you about all the wonderful dishes you can indulge in tonight when you break your fast. Here are five dishes that you can relish this Karva Chauth.
Palak Paneer
Ingredients:
1 lb spinach
500 grams cottage cheese
3/4th cup yogurt
1 onion
Red chillies, ginger, garlic green chilli and salt to taste
Method:
Ensure that the spinach is frozen and thawed and kept.
Make a fine paste of the onion, ginger, garlic, chillies, salt, spinach and yogurt.
Ensure that the ingredients are mashed properly and make a mixture of medium consistency. You may also add cream if you wish.
Add the cottage cheese to this mixture and cook for a while.
Badam Puri
Ingredients:
2 cups maida
½ cup Almonds
1 cup Rice flour
Milk, sugar, saffron
Method:
Make a paste of the almonds.
Make a dough of the rice flour, maida and almond paste. You may add milk or water to make the dough.
Make sugar syrup separately. Add the saffron and cardamom to it.
Make small balls of the dough to and roll them out into thin layers. Stack up 5-6 thin layers of this sort one above the other, and roll them up together to form a thick cylinder. Cut this into small round pieces and fry.
Once these puris have been fried, dip them in the hot sugar syrup for 15 minutes and serve.
