am i comfortable, i am comfortable, be comfortable clothes, i am good clothes, clothes are comfortable,

The concept of girlish charm, affordable fashion and comfort seems to be a winning mantra with Mumbai's fashionistas. So much so, that leading designers have started to factor their design ideas to cater to this growing breed of happening and upwordly mobile women.

Good news is that apart from cuts, colours too play a big role in the season's dressing styles. And every woman's existing wardrobe can be revamped into a new summer avatar with some tips to go by.

Says designer Vikram Phadnis, "Tunics in simple cuts with varying lengths at the knee level can be apt this summer." And designer Nikasha Tawadey suggests girls to keep the silhouette relaxed to be comfortable. "Light-weight fabric Patiala salwars with short kurtis can look nice on every woman."

Playing up the colours of Spring, this season, designer Neeta Lulla says, "By keeping the fabrics breathable and light, sweat and humidity can be beaten. Also, pastel shades or bright yet not dark hues reflect light instead of absorbing the heat. Lemony yellows, floral pinks, peaches, nudes are all in and worthy for the Mumbai weather."

To designer Anita Dongre and Anupama Dayal, it's about being Indian with a western sensibility. So, that's a good cue to go by.

Equipped with these handy tips, you can add a twist to your summer wear by making some simple changes to an existing wardrobe. Here's how:

One shoulder: Your pretty, occasion wear, flairy kurta can be made slightly open on the top. If your shoulders are toned then go for off-shouldered or one-shoulder look.

Colour that: With your fave dangris, avoid sporting a full sleeve tee, in fact go for electric blue or neon pink singlet. Wear wedge heels or pretty jute footwear.

Revamp that sari: Your mom's old floral chiffon or georgette sari can be revived by making a fitting skirt with a side slit or a pair or a pair of cool dhoti pants.
