Bollywood is thinking big all over again. Just when one would have thought that post the debacle of biggies like KITES, RAAVAN and GUZAARISH, Bollywood would be working on discounted budgets, the latest on the movies front is that READY is turning out to be a big budget extravaganza with 60 crores being pumped into the film.
"Well, what's wrong in that", shoots back Bhushan Kumar, film's co-producer, "I am expecting that the film will generate a huge amount in return as well. READY is a very workable project for us and I am pretty much expecting things to fall in place. Didn't Salman Khan's last film DABANGG hit the roof when it came to collections? It shows how much potential does the market have if a film is good. We have kept those figures in mind while investing on READY. With Anees Bazmee and Salman together, we know what we are talking about."
The film is co-produced by Rajat Rawail, Nitin Manmohan and Sohail Khan along with Bhushan Kumar and Kishan Kumar. However making a film in such huge budget doesn't mean that the makers are further selling it at unheard of prices.
"Selling is still quite workable and the price has been set pretty realistically", says Bhushan with a straight face, "No one is out there to take any unfair advantage. We all know how hot READY is today, whether amongst the audience, trade or industry in general. Still, we are keeping ourselves practical and pretty grounded."
READY releases all over on 3rd June. |
