Benefits of Working out in the Morning

Benefits of Working out in the Morning
There is no research that solidly backs that working out in the AM is far more beneficial to weight loss or otherwise than working out in the PM. There is a whole lot of contradictory evidence to show that metabolism is higher in the morning or that you are the most productive in the afternoon. Therefore, today we will discuss working out in the morning only in light of good old common sense.

Lets take an example. Dev has a 9 to 7 job. He’s a late sleeper; what with his long hours at work plus his workouts, when is he to relax and get time for himself and for his friends? So he watches tv, goes for a drive to meet his friends, or spends time with his wife late after the kids are asleep. He wakes up just in time to get out of the house and get to work before the cut off at 9:45 am.

At the end of his day he goes to the gym. Now with a schedule like his at work, sometimes erratic, there are weeks on end when, though he makes every possible effort, he cannot leave on time. If he does not leave at 7:15, he won’t get home by 8:15. There is no way he will manage to go to the gym and have time for dinner with his family.

So he skips the gym, the easiest of all to skip. And he lies to himself, saying I will go tomorrow.

Another example, another person, but this time we're talking about a morning exerciser - Arun. In spite of having an equally grueling schedule, he goes to the gym 3 times a week. He goes on Saturdays (at his leisure), Tuesdays, and Thursdays. On Tuesday and Thursday he pushes himself to wake up earlier than normal and go. He knows he has to do that at the very least if he wants to stay strong and healthy. As a result, Arun makes sure that he gets a good workout in at least thrice a week and on Sundays he plays with his children and two evenings a week, he goes on a walk with his wife.

While Dev has great weeks where he works out 5 days on the trot, but doesn’t see his trainer for months at busy times, Arun is consistently exercising through out the year.
