tv Show Review Zor Ka Jhatka

What's hot:
The kicks, the falls, the bumps and Shah Rukh Khan!
What's not:
Saumya Tandon aka Khabrina. SRk can do with a better sidekick.
 verdict:
Zor Ka Jhatka wins thumbs up. It promises non-stop laughter, a great way to relax and refresh after a tough day
 RATING:
It was a treat to watch all the contestants making a fool of themselves! It was another treat to see Shah Rukh Khan enjoying himself so thoroughly, especially after the depressing episode of Koffee with Karan where the King Khan spoke like a beaten soldier.

Zor Ka Jhatka wins thumbs up, with sporting celebrities falling on their faces, jumping, dashing, getting kicked and boxed, and smiling at the end of it. Yes, it is a remake of Wipeout, a water-based game show, which again is a remake of Takeshi’s Castle. Give me Javed Jafrey’s hilarious commentary any time. But SRK is just as charming.

So back to ZKJ, the celebrities who came on were quite funny… all with funny names that Shah Rukh kept calling them. Claudia Ciesla of Big Boss fame was Gulabo, former Miss India Simran Kaur Mundi was the Jungli Billi, Bakhtiar Irani was the Dancing Bakhtiyar, Commonwealth Games winner Boxer Manoj Kumar was Desi Tyson… and yes, he got the booty of Rs. 10 lakh, and also got qualified for the finals to win Rs. 50 lakhs.

While the celebs got soaked and ate mud in Argentina, Shah Rukh was in a lavish picturesque set watching all the fun on huge lifesize screens. Supporting him on site was Saumya Tandon aka Khabrina (why was she wearing ill-fitting shorts?). The games were similar to Wipeout, but our desi celebs did it much better than the West. Check out how:

There were shaky planks which ensured the weirdest fall, and the boxing wall which punched the celebs, pushing them in a pond of sticky mud. Next the contestants had to get ready to be bounced on big balls and if they were late, a huge hammer (Ramlal) would do the honour of bumping them in the water. After that, the mixer-grinder (a kind playground roundabout) churned their brains & stomach. And the final stage was the water cascade challenge, after which we guess they wouldn’t need to take a bath for a week! Tee Hee.
