Kangana Ranaut might have essayed varied characters in her career but there has been a trend to her character portrayal. Most of the characters that Kangna has played have been dark, traumatised and mostly melancholic.
Look at her filmography and this fact becomes more than evident. Barring a few roles, her dominant screen imagery evokes a sense of loss and despair.
But, things are set to take a new turn in Kangna's screen life. In her forthcoming film TANU WEDS MANU, in which she pairs up opposite Madhavan, Kangna will play a character that makes her stand apart from her previous films. For once, Kangna's character will have a cheerful disposition. The dark and the melancholic will give way to a more cheerful, youthful and a sanguine character.
Kangna has high hopes from her film which incidentally has to brave the competition from the soon to be commenced Cricket World Cup. Let's hope both TANU and MANU stand up to the challenge. |
