What do you do if you love Maths, want to make friends and want your life to be one big party? You start playing the trumpet, of course! Well, at least that's what acclaimed trumpet "stylist" Saskia Laroo would have you believe. If you read her story, you'd be inspired to blow your own trumpet too...
A trumpet player since the age of eight, Saskia, who has also been referred to as "Lady Miles" (comparing her to the likes of Miles Davis, American trumpeter, and composer — one of the most influential musicians of the 20th century),
was in Mumbai to perform at the Seagram's 100 Pipers Presents Jazz Utsav 2010 that is on till December 4th. We caught up with this vivacious Dutch trumpeter before she flew off to her next gig.
