Whoopi Goldberg Whoopi Goldberg Continues to Criticize New York Times for Erasing Her Oscar the year Halle Berry and Denzel Washington won

Whoopi Goldberg doesn't buy the New York Times' explanation of why it left her out of a roundup of Oscar-winning black actors in a weekend story.

"You shouldn't have to read a story five times to get the meaning," she told USA Today at the Marc Jacobs fashion week show in New York City Monday night. "It's an erasure. I've made 50 movies, and no mention?"

After Goldberg went off on the paper on The View Monday, the New York Times released a statement explaining their story: "The error lies with those who are reading the story incorrectly. The point of the piece was not to name every black actor or actress who has been awarded an Oscar, it was to draw a comparison between the number who won prior to 2002 (the year Halle Berry and Denzel Washington won) and those who have won since. And the story states very clearly that in 73 years, prior to 2002, only seven black actors/actresses won Oscars.

Still, Goldberg told USA Today, "It's sloppy journalism."

But she's not going to continue harping on the situation.
