Verizon 4G LTE modem gets Mac OS X hack




Verizon has promised Mac support for its LTE 4G modems, but until then the official software is PC-only. That’s not good enough for OS X lovers wanting some high-speed 4G action, however, and so an unofficial workaround has been cooked up over at HowardForums for the Pantech UML290.


The hack isn’t officially supported by Verizon, but was apparently developed with some help from the carrier’s advanced support team. It’ll work not only on Macs but on Linux, UNIX and other platforms, though you’re out of luck if things go wrong; there’s no tech support until the proper VZACCESS app is released.
