In the zeal to catch the eyeballs on the particular day that his episode of the new version of 'Kofee with Karan' was to be broadcasted, the mischievous quotes aired by Sonam Kapoor and Deepika Padukone have landed all the three of them into a controversy that was avoidable. One sometimes wonders, whether the supposed comment made by both Sonam and Deepika during the course of the programme were not stage managed? The ability to say so stems from the fact that all the major television channels have picked up the sound bites of that particular moment in the programme and are interpreting it in their own manner to increase the TRP ratings of their channels as well. Has it all boiled down, then, to the TRPs only, and has the whole life been reduced to TRPs for that matter? Well, with the plethora of television programmes vying for the eyeballs what better way to create a controversy around one particular episode of a programme and raise the level of expectation to the next programme among the audience, and it ensures at it least certain percentage of eyeballs for the next episode. The fallout of such gimmicks however could be serious, as it has already happened with Karan Johar. In his new version of AGNEEPATH Rishi Kapoor was supposed to play the role played by Danny in the earlier version of AGNEEPATH, but now has decided not to act, and has also taken a firm stand that his son would not be working against either of the two female stars, Sonam and Deepika in any future ventures for the time being. Well, whose loss is it then in the final analysis, all the three participants associated with the programme, be it Karan, Deepika or Sonam, they indeed are the losers. One also wonders, whether the audience would be watching the episode under reference of 'Kofee with Karan', after all, the USP of the episode is available for all the viewers across the country to view it, without bothering to wait in anticipation for that particular episode to be broadcast. May be, had the viewers found it out during the course of the telecast of this particular episode it would have been much better. But the arrow has been shot from the quiver, and who all get engulfed in it is to seen in the days to come. One thing is for sure, stars henceforth would think twice airing their views on individuals and films in the talk shows.
